The way we work

We’re a friendly, down-to-earth bunch and we genuinely care about creating a space where you feel safe, seen and supported. Our practice is neurodivergent-friendly, LGBTQIA+ inclusive and welcoming of all identities, backgrounds and experiences. We understand that reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if therapy hasn’t felt safe or helpful in the past.

If you have any questions, whether it’s about accessibility, how we work or whether counselling is right for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

You’re welcome to ask anything. We’re here to help, not to judge.

  • Feeling lost, disconnected or unsure of yourself

  • Relationship issues or patterns

  • Neurodivergence, overwhelm or sensory sensitivity

Our approach is tailored to your needs and grounded in warmth, safety and respect.

At Polaris Counselling Hub, we offer person-centred counselling in Aberdeen. Whether you're facing anxiety, low mood, trauma or life changes, this is a space where you can slow down and feel truly heard.

Being person-centred means we start with you, not a diagnosis, a label or technique. At the core of this approach is the belief that you have the capacity to grow, heal and make sense of your life when you’re given the right kind of support. That support comes through a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, honesty and unconditional positive regard.

You won’t be judged, analysed or told what to do here. Instead, we’ll meet you with compassion and curiosity. Our role is to create a safe space where you can explore whatever you need to, whether it’s emotions that feel too big to carry alone, patterns that keep repeating or simply the sense that something isn’t quite right. We go at your pace and follow what feels important to you, trusting that you know yourself better than anyone else.

People often come to person-centred counselling for anxiety, depression or trauma, but therapy can also help if you feel lost, overwhelmed, stuck or unsure of who you really are. Through the process, many clients find greater clarity, calm, self-trust and confidence. They begin to understand why they feel the way they do, learn to listen to themselves with kindness and start making choices that are more aligned with who they truly are.

There’s no pressure to be a certain way in our sessions. You’re welcome to show up just as you are, with tears, laughter, silence, messiness or anything in between.
