Meet Gordon

Hi I’m gordon

Welcome

Hi, I’m Gordon, a counsellor with NHS experience in mental health, neurological care, and staff wellbeing. I support people navigating major life transitions, whether that’s starting a new role, recovering from illness or injury, facing burnout, or caring for someone close to them.

My approach is grounded, adaptable, and deeply compassionate. Together, we’ll create a space where you can explore how life is affecting you and what you need to move forward.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety, burnout, low mood, or stress

  • Life transitions and identity shifts

  • Workplace challenges and career fatigue

  • The emotional impact of caring for others

  • Neurodivergent experiences, including autism and ADHD

  • Grief, Bereavement and Loss

You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply not quite yourself. Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to hold it all together or explain everything, just come as you are.

A Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach

Having worked alongside autistic individuals, I value the uniqueness each person brings. Autism isn’t something to be fixed, it’s something to be understood.

Whether you have a diagnosis of autism, ADHD or another specific neurodivergent condition or identify with having symptoms in our sessions, you’ll find a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore identity, masking, burnout, or simply be yourself. It’s a space to process and make sense of how you experience life.

A Safe Space for Difficult Feelings

Some experiences carry deep pain or shame, making them hard to talk about. That’s why I offer emotional holding a calm, accepting space where you don’t need to filter, apologise, or explain everything right away.

Nothing is too much, too messy, or too broken to be explored. You’re welcome just as you are.

My Background

My journey began in the NHS, where I supported people across mental health, independent living, and neurological care.

This work provided me with a deep insight into how life-altering conditions, such as acquired brain injuries and neurological differences, affect not only individuals but also those around them.

During my time supporting children and young people with attachment disorders, I developed a deeper understanding of creating a therapeutic environment centred on emotional holding and attachment-informed practice.

This experience enhanced my awareness of complex developmental and behavioural challenges, enriching my counselling approach

Alongside counselling, I work in Practice Education and Development within the NHS, supporting staff wellbeing and professional growth. I understand how heavy it can feel to carry responsibility while trying to care for yourself and you don’t have to do that alone.

Qualifications & Therapeutic Style

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling with a Pluralistic-Informed Practice. This means I tailor our work to suit your unique needs, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches.

Whether you're feeling disconnected, uncertain, or simply need space to reflect, we’ll work at your pace to explore what matters most to you.
